Family visit!

Saturday morning the "kids" wanted to do a little shopping in Haarlem.   Us "adults" headed out towards the Grote Markt. When we crossed the street we noticed the antique fair was on the Dreef, so we walked over to take a look!  We ended up spending at least an hour and a half there. We bought a couple of small things and so did Jeff and Birgit. Afterwards we went over to the Grote Markt and did a little shopping.

We bought some beautiful flowers for the table. We stopped at Brinkmann's and had a nice lunch. The "kids" met us there and then headed off to Amsterdam. A friend of theirs had use of his father's boat, so they met up with them and stayed in Amsterdam the entire day going up and down the canals. Beautiful day for it!

We did some shopping in Haarlem during the day, checking out all the beautiful shops in town.

Stopped for a cup of coffee at a restaurant on the Spaarne River:

For dinner, I made a nice lasagne and we decided to open up the Magnum bottle of Moet and Chandon champagne!

Later in the evening we were talking and thought we should show them the Jopen Kerk. It's a brewery that was once a Monk's Monastery.

On our way there we saw the funniest cat sitting in a doorway....sooooo sweet!!!

Jopen is in a beautiful building....and they have good beer!  We each had a beer, and we had an order of bitterballen!

Family left yesterday. They are driving back to Denmark to visit family and will head back to California in a couple of weeks.

It was wonderful having them here, we had a great time!
